How to Report Suspicious Emails or Text Messages

Your security is our priority. If you receive a text message or email that seems suspicious, appears to come from us but doesn’t look right, or asks for personal or financial information, please report it right away.

What To Do

1. Do NOT click any links or open attachments
Suspicious messages often include harmful links or files. Avoid interacting with them.

2. Take a screenshot or save the message
Include:

  • The full text or email content
  • Your phone number or email (optional if you want follow‑up)
  • Any links included in the message

3. Forward the message to our security team by emailing: abuse@sccu4u.com
Include:

  • Your name (optional, but helpful)
  • Your phone number or email (optional if you want follow‑up)
  • A brief description of what happened (e.g., “Received this text claiming my account was locked”)

4. Delete the message
Once reported, remove it from your device to prevent accidental clicks later.

How We Handle Your Report

Our security team will:

  • Review the suspicious message
  • Block fraudulent senders when possible
  • Take steps to protect other members
  • Contact you only if additional information is needed

Tips to Stay Safe:

We will never ask for your PIN, Online Banking password, or full account number through email or text
If you’re unsure whether something came from us, call our Member Services Team, using the phone number on our website (800-222-7228), not the number in the suspicious message
