Scholarship Programs

The Sierra Central Community Foundation Scholarship Program is proud to offer student scholarships as part of our youth philanthropic donations. Each year, twenty students are awarded $1,000.

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2025 Scholarship Program.
  • Program Period: January 1 - April 1

  • Open to: Graduating high school seniors, current college students, or past Sierra Central Scholarship Program recipients, who are still attending college.

  • Recipient Criteria: Applications must be from those living in any of the following counties: Modoc, Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, Plumas, Glenn, Butte, Sierra, Colusa, Sutter, Yuba, Nevada, Placer, Yolo, Sacramento, El Dorado, Amador, Alpine, or Tuolumne.

  • Application Deadline: Applications are due by April 1 and must include complete details at time of submission (questionnaire, essay, transcripts & references).

Financial Literacy Programs

Sierra Central donates time and resources to further financial literacy in schools. From large high school programs to smaller junior high and elementary after-school programs.
Earnie’s Reading Hour
K - 3rd Grade

This one-hour program introduces students to financial literacy through an interactive book and presentation.
