Refer a Friend FAQ's
Once my referrals are complete how will I know?

Those who "refer" will receive a reward email once the reward is processed and delivered. Rewards go into processing once the referred account "friend" has met the requirements, then within 2-3 weeks both parties receive the Reward Email.

What information do I need to provide when I make a referral?

When you register at SierraCentral.com/refer, you simply can share your unique referral link on social media or send it in an email or text message. We'll take it from there!

When will I receive my reward?

Your reward typically arrives 2-3 weeks after meeting all program requirements.

Who is eligible?

You and the friends and family members you refer must be 18-years-old and meet the Refer-A-Friend eligibility requirements. Anyone you refer will be considered ineligible if they have had a personal Checking account with Sierra Central in the last 12 months or are already Sierra Central members. How many people can I refer?

You can refer as many friends and family members as you want, but you can only receive a maximum of $500 in referral rewards, per calendar year. People you refer can only receive one $100 VISA Digital Reward Card once they open their account and meet all program requirements. * Eligible checking accounts include Youth Choice, Choice, Select, or Prime. What requirements need to be met to qualify for the reward?

In order to receive your Reward Card, the person you refer simply needs to register for the Refer-A-Friend program and open a new Sierra Central Credit Union personal Checking account and completes the following within 90 days of account opening: • Complete direct deposits totaling $3,000 or more, AND • Complete 30 debit card transactions (excluding ATM transactions), AND • Enroll in Online Banking, AND • Enroll in EStatements, AND • Keep the account open for at least 90 days * Eligible checking accounts include Youth Choice, Choice, Select, or Prime. How does Refer-A-Friend work?

Have friends and family you'd like to refer? Begin by registering at SierraCentral.com/refer. You'll receive a unique referral link to share with anyone you want. The unique link will take them to a simple form to register for the offer. Once they open a qualifying account and have satisfied all program requirements, you'll be issued your $100 VISA Digital Reward Card(s). Please note: Digital reward cards typically arrive within 2-3 weeks.

What is Refer-a-Friend?

Refer-A-Friend is a great way to share the benefits of banking with Sierra Central Credit Union. Your friends and family member can receive a $100 VISA Digital Reward Card when they register, open a new personal Checking account, and meet the program requirements. As the referrer, you can receive up to $500 in VISA Digital Rewards cards, per calendar year. That's $100 for each of your referrals (up to 5) who registers, opens a new checking account, and meets program requirements.

What should you do if you qualified for a reward, but have not received it yet?

Are business accounts or joint accounts eligible for the referral program?

No. This program is only offered on qualifying personal Checking accounts.

Can the Refer-A-Friend program be combined with any other promotions or offers?

This program is separate from any other promotion that Sierra Central may have going on.

What if someone is referred by two different people?

If someone happened to be independently referred by two different people, they would receive two emails (one for each independent referral). The referred person can only get one reward, however. The first referrer whose referral link was used to register for the offer would be paid as the referrer.

How long does the referred member have to complete the qualifying steps?

90 days after account opening.

When can I expect to receive my bonus earnings?

90 days after the account is opened, if all requirements have been met.

Where can I access the link to start referring my family and friends?

Members can visit www.SierraCentral.com/refer to start referring.

What specific Checking accounts qualify for this Refer-A-Friend program?

Any Sierra Central Credit Union personal Checking accounts qualify. Choose from: Youth Choice, Choice, Select, or Prime.

What happens if the referred member opens a checking account, but doesn’t meet all requirements?

Nothing. The new member will go on to be a Sierra Central member, they will just not qualify for the referral earnings.

Is there a limit to how many people a current Sierra Central member can refer?

No. But we cap the amount of earnings each person can earn at $500, per calendar year!
