Firefox (Windows & Mac): This free open-source browser is getting a lot of attention lately, and for good reason. It is fast, reliable, and has features like tabbed browser windows, a pop-up blocker, and more. All this for the price of FREE! For those familiar with the Netscape Navigator browser, the switch to Firefox will be quite smooth. It was developed by Mozilla, the same folks behind the Netscape browser. Opera (Windows): The Opera browser has been around since 1996 and has a loyal following. Featuring tabbed browsing, integrated Google search, pop-up blocking, and colorful skins, this is an excellent all around choice. The reviewers at CNet's Download.com give Opera 5 stars and note "Offering an unprecedented
speed boost and low memory usage, Opera is still embarrassing the big browsers
by loading most Web pages in a fraction of the time they use." Opera is free.
Safari (Mac): Apple jumped into the fray with the Mac-only Safari browser by making it the default choice in OS X. It offers tabbed browsing, pop-up blocking, built in Google search, and several other features. Mac users would be wise to give it a try, if they haven't already.
